California HOPE (CalHOPE) is a crisis support program administered by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). Funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), CalHOPE will implement the Crisis Counseling Assistance and Training Program (CCP). It provides supplemental assistance for local entities, states, tribes, and territories by funding mental health assistance and training activities in areas that have received a presidential major disaster declaration.``

There trained volunteers provide assistance connecting our heroes to both state and federal education, employment, housing, health, disability and other benefits that may be available to them and their families. Merced Transit Authority operates a curb-to-curb transportation service for individuals with disabilities. Reservations are required. Eligibility: Must be an ADA certified passengers with a temporary or permanent disability preventing use of regular fixed-route transportation services.
